A Lesson in Container Gardening

Kaid started a pumpkin from seed as a science project at school. Excited about learning about gardening we couldn't let this little pumpkin, well perish. Kaid agreed that it wouldn't be a good idea to plant the pumpkin in the ground at our rental. After researching container gardens we learned that pumpkins in pots don't mix. Well, Kaid wanted to give it a try......

And the Winner is..................

Two weeks ago, Kaid received a letter announcing that he had won the "I am a Good Citizen" contest. Kaid received a spiffy new red bike and matching helmet for his essay on how he decorated water bottles with green food coloring from the recycling bin and left flowers for the neighbors to help them celebrate spring. In honor of the children who are "Good Citizen's" the governor of Connecticut declared today "Good Citizen Awards Day."

How can it be.................

Lane, I can't begin to tell you how proud of you I am. You have grown so much over the past year and now your on your way to middle school. I remember your first day of kindergarten, you were more than excited to be on your way. You are truly one of the best achievements in my life. Do you think you think you can do your Mom a little favor and slow up on the growth spurt? Your feet are officially bigger than mine and your closing in on looking directly into my eye! Lane, I know your going to do well next year. Love-Mom
